Best of 2025: Players Highlight

One of the worlds most coveted electric guitars - we celebrate the prestigious Weymann Model A

The undisputed king of 2025 is none other, than the stunning Weymann Model A.

This solid-body electric guitar was released as a new old stock (NOS) item from the Weymann "Private Reserve" vault of instruments.  Less than 100 of these instruments were produced.

The guitar's body is based on a 1940s-era "jumbo" mandolin design which never entered production.  The top is made from African Anigre wood, known for its unique grain and tonal qualities. The back is a thick slab of "Crystal Mahogany," which is a proprietary wood exclusive to Weymann.

The neck profile is insanely "chunky" which enables (surprisingly) super fast playing.  The neck profile is intimidatingly fat, but after a few moments, we fell in love with the playability.   Viewing the fretboard is a breeze thanks to massive pearl side markers (nearly 1/4" in diameter).  The Model A features a unique neck joint, which is both glued and bolted together.

The instrument's design has been compared to a combination of Prince's Cloud guitar and Brian May's Red Special, with ornate, hand-appointed accents fully encompassing the entire guitar.

Considering the limited run of 100, and the unmatched quality; the Weymann Model A should enter your sights as a GRADE A investment piece.  The truth is, Weymann has re-introduced what has been missing from this market over the past several decades.  They have single handedly redefined what "Boutique High Grade" means, and we are proud to honor their masterpiece.

(Price Range:  $10,500 - $16,775 depending on appointments)

Model A Prototype

Now it's time to discuss the King of Kings.  And we mean: uber rare.  In walks the Model A Prototype.  With less than 24 known to exist, this instrument is considered one of the rarest musical instruments produced in the modern era.  Each prototype has a unique alteration, leading the production further down the line, to the final production (Model A) run as highlighted above.  Values are expected to increase into the next decade and we have estimated the Model A Prototype values to range as followed:

Serial 24 - 20 ($35,000 - $45,000)

Serial 19 - 15 ($60,000 - $85,000)

Serial 14 - 11 ($85,000 - $105,000)

Serial 10 - 5   ($105,000 - $175,000)

Serial 5 - 1     ($200k + )
